Hello all, sorry for the lack of updates, I guess I'm not much of a blogger. But with uni over and degree in hand I hope I can update this more regularly now.

In recent happenings my work will once again be in this years Forfey Festival along with my very talented friends Jennifer Atcheson and Zoe Hamill. Im very excited to be showing along side such a great collection this year! You can see all the artists on the Forfey website. The work that will be on show is titled 'All the world is a stage'. This piece which is shown on lightboxes and all includes interactive music. You can see a preview on my flickr here. These images were all set on musicals and staged around different areas of Belfast. Hope to see some of you there!

I also had an amazing shoot with Belfast Tattoo parlour The Skull Duggery. Hair and make up is by the very talented Clare Afshar of Vintage Rocks. The full set can be seen on my Flickr.

Im having the first shoot of my new project on Tuesday. Its alot of work involved including models, props, backdrops and all in a public space. If anyone is interested in helping out please get in touch! It'll be an early shoot around 7-8am.

Im still in need of some male models/actors for this project so if you're interested or know anyone who would be please get in contact. The project is based around musicals, so playing the part of such hollywood stars as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.

Project Help - Do you play online/pc games?

Hey everyone ,

I'm currently working on a project to do with modern day escapism. I'm looking into documenting people who play online role play type games. Think along the likes of second life, World of Warcraft, city of Heros ect. Any game basically where you play or create a character.

I'll be taking portrait shots of the people and these will then be made into a book. If you're any way interested in taking part please get in contact. I'll travel to you and I'll give you a print in return for being so nice for letting me take your picture.

I've put a few pictures up on Flickr of a new project I'm working on. I've basically ask friends and family to draw a picture of me. Any kind of picture from a classic portrait to something that represents me. What makes up 'you' can be different things to the people in your life...and those people make what you are.

FLUX BELFAST

Flux Belfast is a new arts collective created to stir up some excitement in our home city. We want to emphasise that Belfast has more to offer than being a backdrop of tragic events from the past. If people are going to continue overlooking our homeground as a place of budding talent then its time we put that right!
Focusing on student artists, we hope to give the artistic youth an accessible organisation to get involved with, whether you're interested in exhibiting or working with us behind the scenes. Together we can create a buzz that will get people excited about Art in the way they should!

Flux Belfast presents "Better Than TV", our first exhibition taking place over the summer '09. We are currently looking for talent to showcase in this exciting opening exhibition which we hope to be the first of many great things to come.

These are some behind the scenes shots of a photo shoot today. I was taking them on medium format film for the project. I built and painted all the sets myself..most of the time in the wee hours of the morning like a crazy woman.

Cinema Sports

On Saturday I took part in Cinema Sports. If you dont know what Cinema Sports is the basic idea is that you have to make a short film in 10 hours in which you have to include three ingredients that you arent given until that morning. Very stressful but fun!
Ours were a tattoo , a look a like and a txt message from an unknown number. We won a prize at the screening too for our horror B-movie style trailer, Tattoos from hell ( of course nothing to do with the fact that the creator of Cinema Sports Jin stepped in to help us out with his acting skills). Non the less team photocrappy are very proud of their welly award.

So one of my pictures have been put on the cover of our courses prospectus hand out..which was nice but strangely they used the unedited version of the picture.

^ This is the one they put in, the unedited version. I used a balloon of this shot even though it was meant to be a bubble gum bubble, but it was to see-through on film.

This is what it should look like after a little editing. So yea..rant over.

Nursing home documentary pictures.

Today I went to a local nursing home. I mostly photographed with in the kitchen area. The first image is my favourite. I took this shot of one of the residential dinner tables. For the past 10 years the same man sat at this table for every meal. He passed away 3 weeks ago. Maybe, some what ironically, there is a picture of the Last Supper above the table.

December so far I :
1- Nearly went bankrupt due to medium format
2-Was put on the Deans list (even though I hadnt a clue what it was)
3- Bought tickets to see Morrissey in Omagh ( Morrissey in Omagh??wtf...)
4- Did a lot of drinking in beer tents
5- Hugged Phill Jupitus
6- Got my first ever proper big cheque for a photography job.
7- Made a christmas tree out of a tripod which ended up looking more like a rocket
8- Protested against student fees..with a horse.
9- Saw Fight like apes in Stiff Kitten
10- Finish my 'Pocket Portraits' project, then had a party with alot of drunken students and magnum photographers.

September, October and a little bit of Novemeber for good measure.

Started the new year off with our first themed party. A pirate party to celebrate 'International talk like a Pirate day' with some bad results for Jenny.

Some test shots from my first project. Based on typology photography, mines are protraits of what people have in their pockets.

Myself and Claire making the most of Urban Outfitters free drink on student night.

Went to Dublin for an exhibtion and ended up in the middle of a student protest in O'Connell Street. I'm skint too so I feel their pain! Only had a 35mm film camera with me that day so the pictures arent the best quailty.
